About the workshop:
Guided by expert tutors; Beverly Mellor and Lucy Mellor, we’ll begin our day of Calligraphy by learning the core fundamentals of this beautiful and calming art form. We’ll master techniques including how to hold a dip pen, using dipping ink, learning pressure strokes and rhythms which gives calligraphy those characteristic contrasting strokes before moving onto learning the Calligraphy Script Alphabet, how to link letters, first words and phrases- all exciting! We’ll learn how to draw with our dip pen including decorative illustrations and flourishes to complement our calligraphy and also lettering up stationery pieces; cards and gift tags.
The second half of the Workshop covers elements of Design; how to layout greetings cards,
letter up and design a piece of seasonally themed wall art along with luxury stationery items.
