Ripley Castle and Gardens, situated 3 miles from Harrogate in North Yorkshire on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, a historic attraction we are open to the public all year round and a visit to the Estate makes for a fascinating and entertaining day out, in a beautiful location.

Our history is one of political, military, religious and social turbulence, of plague and persecution, of renaissance, enlightenment and industrial revolution. It is a tale of romance, courage, loyalty and recklessness.

There is no final chapter because we are still here, still enjoying the adventure.

Come and Visit the Gardens and Grounds.

The Castle remains closed to the public.

Opening Hours : 10.30am – 3.00pm

(Last entry 1.00pm)

Please note the Gardens & Grounds
will close for the Winter on Sunday 1st November, re opening Spring 2021
The Tea Rooms & The Boar’s Head will be open daily throughout the winter months.

To ensure we are observing all Government Guidelines and restrictions we ask all visitors to book online.
If you choose to visit last minute you can pay at the Tearoom & we will take your details on the gate for Test & Trace purposes.

We cannot currently accept groups of more than 6 visitors.

All partner cards HHA, RHS, YGHC&G &  Ripley Members are offered timed slots each day

Gardeners World 241 vouchers, please book one full paying adult & bring your voucher with you to show on arrival.

Free parking in the main village car park –  open from 9.00am -6.00pm daily 

The Tea Room and The Boar’s Head are open daily.
