There are some fascinating stories to be told about this 700 year old castle and its inhabitants over the years and the Castle's experienced guides have tailor-made the tour to specifically interest the children.
The children will be introduced to 26 generations of Ingilby family history which includes a wild boar hunt which nearly killed King Edward III, religious persecution, the Gunpowder Plot, Oliver Cromwell being kept at gunpoint in the Library, family tragedies and all about eccentric ancestors and even ghost stories.The tour takes approximately 45 minutes and is specifically geared for children aged 5 -16 years together with their families. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
The tours are informative and amusing so do bring your children along - they will be enthralled.
Children's tours are available at 13:00 weekends from Easter until the end of September plus daily during the schools holidays (excluding February half term).

Within the pleasure grounds of Ripley Castle there is a small children's play trail. Let your children release their energy and hunt for clues on our informative Treasure Hunt whilst you wander around and take in the magnificent surroundings. A treat for all at the end of the trail, ask for details at the admissions desk in the Gift Shop.
